Through a series of public events, HEARTSPACE is an intergenerational invitation to create, build, and dance as we envision a hopeful future beyond the of climate crisis. Welder Annalisa Dias, who serves as the lead producing playwright, director, and scenic designer of HEARTSPACE, believes “the climate crisis can feel overwhelming, but HEARTSPACE brings us together with hope and connectivity to inspire action and change.”

HEARTSPACE Performance Residency Events 

In November 2019, the earth, that is sufficient team embarked on a transdisciplinary, community-integrated performance residency at the Anacostia Playhouse.  

Events included: 

  • HEARTSPACE Performances

  • Family-friendly Puppet Build

  • Clothing swap with SwapDC

  • Climate Justice Cabaret featuring burlesque, puppets, and climate science

  • Re(sturgeon)ce Puppet Parade (starting at Anacostia Playhouse, proceeding to Anacostia Park)

  • Climate Futures Dance Party

Traipse with us!

We are excited to have partnered with the Traipse App on a walking tour reflective of the earth, that is sufficient. The tour is accessible from your own phone by downloading the free app. You will find it under 'Available Tours' in the Washington, DC area. You can walk the tour on your own and use the app to reflect on the themes of the earth, that is sufficient and explore archival materials.
